Compression springs – custom production, technical design, and tailor-made manufacturing.
Professional industrial spring manufacturer MIBO SPRINGS is a leading specialist in the custom production of compression springs from high-quality round wire. We provide comprehensive supplies for the engineering, automotive, and electrical industries. Our direct production capacity covers wire diameters from 0,5 mm to 3,15 mm. Thanks to a proven network of cooperation partners, we supply springs in an extended range from 0,25 mm up to 10,0 mm.
Types and shapes of compression springs
For various applications, we design springs for both static and dynamic loads with an emphasis on precise force characteristics:
Compression springs
The most common type with linear force increase

Conical springs
Effective solution for limited installation space

Barrel springs
Provide stability against buckling during compression

Variable pitch springs
Allow achieving progressive spring stiffness

Premium materials and certified standards
The quality of our products is based on the use of top-tier materials. In addition to standard spring steel (EN 10270-1) and stainless steel (1.4310), we offer special spring materials upon request
| Material | EN Standard | DIN Standard | Max. Temperature | Rm (Tensile Strength) | Technical Properties |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SH / DH (1.1200) | 10270-1 | 17223-1 | 80 °C | 1200 - 2000+ MPa | High dynamic load capacity, patented wire |
| STAINLESS (1.4310) | 10270-3 | 17224 | 250 °C | 1250 - 2000 MPa | High resistance to corrosion and aggressive environments |
| VDC | 10270-2 | 17223-2 | 120 °C | 1300 - 2100 MPa | Oil-tempered wire, high fatigue strength |
| VDSiCr | 10270-2 | 17223-2 | 250 °C | 1600 - 2300 MPa | Alloy steel for extreme dynamic stress |
| X7CrNiAl17-7 (1.4568) | 10270-3 (1.4568) | 17224 | 350 °C | 1400 - 1900 MPa | High-strength stainless steel resistant to high temperatures |
Types of compression spring ends
The termination of a spring is a decisive factor for its stability, perpendicularity, and the method of force transfer to the seating surface. Choosing the right ends affects both assembly and the service life of the entire mechanism.
- Open unground ends: Coils have a constant pitch up to the end of the wire.
- Open ground ends: The pitch is maintained, but the wire end is ground to a flat plane.
- Closed unground ends: The most common standard. The last coil has zero pitch (it lies flat against the previous coil), which increases stability.
- Closed ground ends: The highest quality termination. Closed coils are precisely ground perpendicular to the spring axis for maximum seating area and accurate force transmission.

Winding direction
The winding direction is an important technical parameter of a compression spring, determining the direction in which the wire is coiled during production. By default, we distinguish between right-hand (RH) and left-hand (LH) winding. In standard applications, the winding direction usually does not affect functionality. However, it becomes critical when two springs are nested inside each other (a spring assembly) – in such cases, they must have opposite winding directions to prevent intermeshing. Winding direction is also vital for applications where the spring is screwed onto another threaded component. At MIBO SPRINGS, we standardly manufacture right-hand springs, but we can provide both variants for custom orders according to your technical documentation.

Dimensions of compression springs
- For the correct design of a compression spring, the key parameters are the free length of the spring L0, the outside diameter De, the wire diameter d, and the total number of coils z.
- Our technical specialists can manufacture springs exactly according to your drawing documentation, taking into account the required force values in the compressed state Fn.

Heat treatment
The quality of MIBO SPRINGS compression springs is the result of a combination of modern technologies and precise finishing processes. Each spring undergoes a heat treatment process, which eliminates internal stresses generated during coiling, thereby ensuring long-term dimensional stability and consistency of the return force.
Surface treatment
Surface treatment is not just an aesthetic matter, but a key technological step that determines the final properties and reliability of the spring in real operation. The primary goal is to protect the material from corrosion, oxidation, and the influences of an aggressive external environment, thereby radically extending the overall service life of the component.
